Other Overnight Options Are Available:

  • This trip returns again in 2017.

  • We have reduced our passenger counts to maximize individual success.

  • This trip is essentially a full night rockfish trip and a full day halibut trip with bunks included for all anglers.  In addition to some terrific fishing our anglers will also save the cost of a hotel room by sleeping in their very own bunk onboard.  This is especially valuable during the peak of the season when hotel rooms are scarce and very expensive.

  • The goal of this trip is to give our anglers an incredible opportunity to catch multiple species of extremely high quality saltwater fish on a single trip.

  • The overnight combo is usually 16-20 hours in duration with plenty of time to catch a diverse limit of tasty rockfish and a super nice limit of delicious halibut.

  • Rockfish will be the exclusive target until midnight with no halibut retention until after midnight.  By the midpoint of the trip we will shift our focus to halibut.  The transition from exclusively rockfish with incidental halibut to exclusively halibut usually involves moving the vessel to different areas.  Late July and August trips will also have excellent opportunities for Silver Salmon that can be caught and retained while halibut fishing.

  • The Nautilus 2 is equipped with underwater led lighting that makes the fishing even more successful and exciting.  You are often able to see the larger fish coming up from the depths as well as the bait-fish in the water near the lights.   On calm nights it can be like fishing in an aquarium.

  • Rockfish are divided in two categories.  Pelagic and non-pelagic.  Pelagic include black sea bass, dusky, yellowtail, widow, blue and dark.  Non-pelagic include yellow eye, quillback, copper, tiger, china, and silver gray. Black sea bass will typically have the highest success rate for pelagic and yellow eye for non-pelagic.  A large variety of different types are seen on most trips.  The limit for rockfish on this trip is five per person and only one can be non-pelagic.  We do catch occasional lingcod that have a limit of one but they are far less common.  Lingcod can be retained after July 1st but limits for all anglers are unlikely.

  • We will practice safe release techniques for non-retained rockfish.

  • We have extended the hours on the back end of this for halibut to give all anglers excellent opportunities for larger fish.

  • Come join us for this unique and exciting fishing opportunity.
